Most assisted living facilities do not have hospice care accommodations. Some facilities will allow existing residents to receive hospice services but won't accept new residents who require end-of-life care. Seniors usually move out of assisted living quarters when they develop life-threatening conditions and go to hospice facilities. Medicare will not pay for assisted living facilities, but it does pay for hospice care.
The term home care refers to two different kinds of care:
1. Home health care which is approved, provided, and managed by licensed medical personnel.
2. Non-medical home care where a San Diego Home Care Assistance caregiver provides assistance to seniors who want to continue living at home as they age.
There are several home care assistance programs in San Diego County that can provide non-medical home care. These agencies provide home care and hospice care services to seniors regardless of where they live.
The many services that San Diego Hospice Care can provide include:
* Companionship Care: This includes conversation, meal preparation, medication reminders, housekeeping, walking assistance, and daily living assistance.
